Man Utd 4-4 Bournemouth: Eight Goals Scored In EPL Thriller

December 16, (THEWILL) — Manchester United and Bournemouth drew 4-4 at Old Trafford in one of the English Premier League’s most entertaining matches this season. Ruben Amorim’s team led three times but could not hold on for victory, while the visitors also went ahead during a chaotic contest.

Amad Diallo opened the scoring in the 13th minute in his last match before departing for the Africa Cup of Nations. Antoine Semenyo equalised five minutes before half-time following a Luke Shaw error, but Casemiro restored United’s lead with a stoppage-time header that goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic failed to keep out.

Bournemouth turned the game around early in the second half. Evanilson levelled 38 seconds after the restart, then Marcus Tavernier curled a free-kick past Senne Lammens to put his side 3-2 up. Bruno Fernandes responded with his own free-kick before Matheus Cunha converted a deflected Benjamin Sesko cross to make it 4-3.

Junior Kroupi came off the bench to score Bournemouth’s fourth goal six minutes from time. David Brooks had two late opportunities to win the match for the visitors but failed to convert either.

All eight goals came from different players in a match that saw neither defence able to maintain control. United’s inability to protect their leads will concern Amorim, while Bournemouth will rue Brooks’ missed chances to claim all three points.
