Manchester City Close To Signing Nigerian striker Olarenwaju Kayode

SAN FRANCISCO, August 15, (THEWILL) – Manchester City are close to completing a deal for Nigerian striker Olarenwaju Kayode from Austria Vienna.

According to sources, the 24-year-old, who was the top scorer in the Austrian Bundesliga last season with 17 goals from 33 appearances, is expected to sign a four-year deal before being sent out on loan to Spanish side Girona.

Kayode, who has played for the Nigeria national team three times, can play wide as well as a central striker and he will be the fifth City player to join La Liga side Girona this summer.

Other signings are Douglas Luiz, Pablo Maffeo, Aleix Garcia and Marlos Moreno.

City, who are currently in Spain for a four-day training camp, will play a friendly against Girona on Tuesday night as they have some extra time off the EPL after their 2-0 opening victory over Brighton with their next game of the season against Everton not until next Monday night.

Pep Guardiola has sent a full squad but Kyle Walker has been given permission to miss the trip for personal reasons.
