Manchester United prepared up for their massive ‘Red Monday’ showdown with arch-rivals Liverpool by stretching in their hotel car park.

Wayne Rooney was all smiles on his return to his home city, though it remains to be seen if he will be recalled to the starting line-up at Anfield.

Rooney, who was also dropped by England boss Gareth Southgate for the recent match in Slovenia, started Manchester United’s last Premier League game against Stoke on the bench.
