SAN FRANCISCO, January 11, (THEWILL) – A popular Sunday market in Potiskum, Yobe State, northeastern Nigeria has been bombed by two female suicide bombers suspected to members of the Boko Haram.
The explosion occurred at the GSM market early Sunday evening (local time), according to witnesses.
Casualty figures remain unclear as at the time of reporting but witnesses told THEWILL that they saw several dead bodies after the two girls, who arrived the market on a tricycle, detonated their vests simultaneously, one inside the market and the other outside.
The GSM market, where phones and accessories are sold, is located near Brema Primary school along the Mohammed Idrissa Way in the heart of Potiskum.
Emergency and security personnel have arrived the scene and have been moving the dead and wounded to the Potiskum General Hospital in the city.
