Senator Dino Melaye was taken to a hospital on Friday for treatment after he surrendered himself to the police.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Mr Jimoh Moshood, disclosed this in a statement shortly after the lawmaker was taken into custody by the police.
He added that the senator was already in a stable condition.
Senator Melaye surrendered himself to the Police Investigation Team at his residence at about 3:00 pm on Friday, eight days after the security personnel laid a siege on his residence in Abuja.
He was wanted by the police for alleged criminal conspiracy and attempted culpable homicide, which he reportedly committed in July 2018.
