SAN FRANCISCO, January 06, (THEWILL) – More than 24 hours after four operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) stormed the Abuja residence of the spokesperson of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh, THEWILL can confim that he is still under detention.

Sources within the EFCC who confirmed his ongoing detention as of the time of filing this report informed THEWILL that Metuh has decided to wait for the anti-graft agency to take him to court, insisting that he was ready to defend himself of allegations brought up against him.

The PDP spokesman is being held to answer questions on alleged fraudulent financial activities in connivance with the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, running into N1.4 billion, allegedly traced to the account of a company linked to him.

As of the time of filing this report, the agency’s spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren could not be reached, as he didn’t respond to call or SMS sent to his mobile phone.

It would be recalled that, Richard Ihediwa, an aide to the embattled PDP helmsman, in a statement broke the news about Metuh’s arrest as he was said to have had some issues to clear with the Commission.

The EFCC was reported to have found that the company, which had N6,676,576.06 as of November 24, 2014, recorded a balance of N1.4 billion by December 2015.
