Jose Mourinho chose his first official press conference as Manchester United manager to take a shot at a long-term managerial rival, Arsene Wenger.
When asked if he had to prove himself again at Old Trafford following his sacking by Chelsea in December 2015, Mourinho turned the attention to Wenger.
“There are some managers, the last time they won a title was ten years ago, the last time I won was a year ago,” Mourinho said, referring to Frenchman Wenger, whose last English Premier League title with Arsenal came in its unbeaten season of 2003-04.
Mourinho took over from Louis Van Gaal as United manager at the end of May, but had yet to face the press officially before Tuesday.

Mourinho wasted no time taking aim at predecessor Louis van Gaal and washed his hands of Ryan Giggs’s decision to leave.
“Rooney will be playing a No.9 or a No.10, maybe a 9-and-a-half, but never a No.6 or a No 8,” he said castigating van gaal’s tactics.
“I want to forget the last three years …better is fourth but that’s not good enough. But I am 53 years old not 63 or 73.
“It is not my responsibility Ryan (Giggs) is not in the club.
“The job Ryan wanted is the job the club gave to me.”
