BEVERLY HILLS, July 26, (THEWILL) – Senate President Bukola Saraki says revealed that his chances of leaving the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are “very, very high”.

Reuters quoted Saraki as making the revealation shortly after 15 APC Senators defected to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

THEWILL recalls that Saraki has been having a running battle with the Federal Government since he became President of the Senate against the wishes of his party.

He was dragged before the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) but was eventually cleared by the Supreme Court.

In June, the police invited him for questioning over the infamous robbery in Offa, Kwara state as the suspects arrested in connection with the incident reportedly confessed to having links with him.

After a public outcry, the police asked the senate president not to appear but explain in writing, which he did.

But on Monday, Ibrahim Idris, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), summoned Saraki over the heist, saying there was need for the senate president to make further statements on the incident.

However, Saraki responded that the invitation was politically-motivated insisting it was a plot to distract those willing to leave the ruling party from not doing so.
