SAN FRANCISCO, November 24, (THEWILL) – A Federal High Court in Abuja has revoked the bail granted to Faisal Abdulrasheed Maina who is standing trial for alleged N58 million fraud
Justice Okon Abang who made the order, also issued a bench warrant for his arrest “anywhere he is sighted by security agencies.”
Faisal Maina, who is the son of the former Chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina is also being accused of operating accounts that were used as conduits for illegal transactions.
The court had on Nov. 26, 2019, admitted Faisal to bail in the sum of N60 million with a surety in the like sum who must be a member of the House of Representatives.
At the resumed trial on Tuesday in Abuja, Justice Okon Abang revoked the bail of Faisal Maina for failing to appear in court as the defendant was also not represented by a counsel.
Justice Abang also ordered Faisal Maina’s surety to appear in court at the next sitting on November 25, 2020.
Dan-Galadima had deposed to an affidavit of means, on Dec. 11, 2019, to always come to court at every adjourned date and produce Faisal in court.
