BEVEY HILLS, January 28, (THEWILL) – The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has thrown open to all members the attendance at its emergency National Executive Council (NEC) scheduled for 12noon on Monday.
The meeting scheduled to hold at the NBA headquarters in Abuja has as its sole agenda: “purported suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Mr. Justice Walter S. C. Onnoghen; any other business.”
In its earlier notice, issued on January 25 by the association’s General Secretary, Jonathan Gunu, NBA restricted attendance to “statutory NEC members, made up of the following:
National officers, past presidents, past Generals Secretaries, Branch Chairmen, Branch Secretaries, Branch NEC representatives and Chairmen and secretaries of sections.”
The amended version of the notice, now reads: “The emergency NEC meeting of the NBA is now open to all interested members of the Bar. Please feel free to attend.
“Please note: Dress code is formal business attire.”
THEWILL recalls that President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday suspended Onnoghen as CJN following a letter from the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).
