June 20, (THEWILL) – The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has launched an action plan to checkmate Telecom Service Disruptions across the country through improved synergy with security agencies to strengthen the existing critical National infrastructure framework
The Executive Vice Chairman of the Commission made this known at an interactive session with newsmen in Abuja on Friday.
Represented by Nnena Ukoha, the NCC Acting Head of Public Affairs, the EVC noted that the move has become very necessary in view of incessant cases of fibre cuts experienced in parts of the country.
According to the commission, between May 21 and May 31, 2025, 137 fibre cuts, which negatively impacted consumers who rely on telecom services, were reported.
The Commission also highlighted efforts initiated to attract more investments into the sector while increasing stakeholders’ engagement to ensure a stable telecom service in the country.
It assured that its partnership with the NSCDC and the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) will yield positive gains in prosecuting vandals of telecom infrastructure.
