August 13, (THEWILL) – Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Premium Trust Bank have signed a N300 million partnership deal set to last four years. The agreement, announced on Tuesday, at the Sunday Dankaro House, includes a 10% annual increase clause.
NFF President, Ibrahim Musa Gusau, was enthusiastic about the partnership, praising Premium Trust Bank’s commitment to supporting Nigerian sports despite its relatively short existence in the financial sector. Gusau emphasised the importance of corporate sponsorship in football development, stating that running the sport requires significant financial resources.
Premium Trust Bank’s Managing Director/CEO, Emmanuel Emefienim, outlined the bank’s previous sports investments. These include partnerships with the Athletic Federation of Nigeria, support for world record holder Tobi Amusan, sponsorship of the 2022 National Sports Festival, and backing Bayelsa Queens in the CAF Women Champions League.
Emefienim stressed the bank’s deliberate approach to sports support, viewing it as a means to impact lives positively. He acknowledged football’s role as a unifying factor in Nigeria and stated the bank’s commitment to identifying and nurturing grassroots talents.
The signing ceremony was attended by key NFF officials, including Alhaji Sharif Rabiu Inuwa, Chairman of the Technical and Development Sub-Committee; Alhaji Babagana Kalli, Chairman of the Security Sub-Committee, and Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, NFF General Secretary.
