December 12, (THEWILL) — The Nigerian equities market advanced further on Friday, closing positively as renewed investor appetite pushed major indices higher.

The Market Capitalisation opened at ₦94.318 trillion and closed higher at ₦95.264 trillion. Similarly, the All-Share Index (ASI) rose from 147,950.59 to 149,433.26, reflecting sustained bullish sentiment across key sectors.

The market recorded a total of 30 gainers and 23 losers.

Top Gainers
GUINNESS gained 10.00 percent (₦198.00 to ₦217.80).
MORISON rose 9.84 percent (₦4.27 to ₦4.69).
CHAMPION advanced 9.69 percent (₦12.90 to ₦14.15).
AUSTINLAZ appreciated 9.66 percent (₦2.07 to ₦2.27).
CILEASING gained 9.62 percent (₦5.20 to ₦5.70).

Top Losers
ETRANZACT fell -10.00 percent (₦14.00 to ₦12.60).
CHELLARAM declined -9.90 percent (₦14.65 to ₦13.20).
EUNISELL dropped -9.89 percent (₦83.40 to ₦75.15).
AFRIPRUD dipped -9.77 percent (₦13.30 to ₦12.00).
DAARCOMM lost -9.18 percent (₦0.98 to ₦0.89).

Dangote Cement Plc, Lafarge Africa Plc, Custodian Investment Plc, Julius Berger, Okomu Oil Palm, and Presco Plc, all remained unchanged.

Market activity reflected strengthening confidence, with investors showing increased appetite for value stocks and companies perceived to offer short-term upside. The strong performance of consumer goods and industrial names led by Guinness and Champion Breweries signalled renewed interest in the sector following recent price corrections.

Despite pockets of profit-taking in technology and services stocks, market breadth remained positive, suggesting a continuation of the ongoing recovery phase.
