BEVERLY HILLS, November 17, (THEWILL) – Niger State Governor, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger State have unanimously adopted Alhaji Umar Mohammed Nasko, 39, the governor’s erstwhile Chief of Staff, as the party’s governorship candidate ahead of the PDP Governorship primary in December.
The Governor made the announcement on Sunday at his Minna residence where he met with stakeholders from the Kontagora and Borgu Emirates, also referred to as Zone C. He said the stakeholders unanimously endorsed Nasko for the PDP governorship ticket for the 2015 governorship election in the state.
“It was consensus for Umar Nasko,” he told journalists.
Nasko, who had also served as Commissioner in various Ministries in the state, was born on March 13, 1975 in Ogbomosho, Oyo State.
Nasko’s endorsement by the governor and the stakeholders has dealt a huge blow to the governorship ambition of Aliyu’s Deputy, Alhaji Musa Ibeto.
