Update: Nigeria: Air Force Jet Crashes In Yola

SAN FRANCISCO, October 10, (THEWILL) – A Nigerian Air Force jet has crashed in Yola, Adamawa State, Northeastern Nigeria.

A military source who asked to remain anonymous said the crash occurred on Saturday evening but didn’t have further information.

But the spokesman for the Air Force, Air Comm. Dele Alonge, in a late night statement said the NAF801 F7-Ni Fighter jet was returning to base after an operation against Boko Haram terrorists when it crashed due to bad weather in Hong, Hong Local Government Area, at about 4.23pm. He said there was no survivor as the pilot, the only person onboard died.

Alonge said the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar has ordered an investigation.
