BEVERLY HILLS, November 14, (THEWILL) – Explosions and sporadic gunshots have been reported near a petrol station operated by the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) along Maiduguri Road in the Hotoro district of Kano, Northern Nigeria.
Residents of the area, who spoke to journalists on Friday night as the development was unfolding said there are several casualties.

The Police in Kano said a suicide bomber in a Toyota car posing as a customer blew himself up at the Magasurki petrol station, opposite the NNPC mega petrol station, during rush hour, killing six persons, including three policemen and injuring five others.
Kano State, the commercial nerve of northern Nigeria has witnessed several deadly campaigns orchestrated by the Boko Haram, a terrorist group, that says it is against western education and wants to Islamise northern Nigeria with its brand of radical Islamic laws.
