SAN FRANCISCO, October 30, (THEWILL) – Osiyo Agama, the abducted sister of Nigeria’s Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Deziani Alison-Madueke, has been rescued from her captors, Rivers State Police said Thursday.
Osiyo, 52, was abducted in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, in the oil-rich Niger Delta, about a week ago by unknown persons. Kidnapping for a ransom reward is common in Southern Nigeria.
Rivers Police spokesman, DSP Ahmad Muhammad, said she was rescued on Wednesday during a joint operation by the police, the military and SSS.
Two unnamed persons were also arrested over her abduction.
