Frenchman Paul Le Guen has been appointed as the new Technical Adviser of the Senior National Team, Super Eagles by the Technical and Development Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation. He will be assisted by Salisu Yusuf, who will be Chief Coach, according to an announcement Monday by the NFF.

The appointments are subject to agreement of contract terms with the NFF Executive Committee.

Le Guen, 52, a former French international with 17 caps, was coach of Cameroun at the 2010 FIFA World Cup Finals in South Africa. He had also coached the Oman national team, and soccer clubs Rennes, Lyon, PSG and Glasgow Rangers.

Spokesman of the Technical and Development Committee, Paul Bassey, said Imama Amapakabo and Alloy Agu, will retain their positions in the technical crew.

The Committee also recommended to the NFF Board, the appointment of one –time Super Eagles’ assistant coach Bitrus Bewarang as the new NFF Technical Director. Bewarang, who is president of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association, will replace the late Coach Shaibu Amodu, who died in Benin City a few weeks back.

It also recommended that former Super Eagles defender Nduka Ugbade be restored to the U17 National Team as assistant to Coach Manu Garba.
