BEVERLY HILLS, CA, July 06, (THEWILL) – Nigerian troops weekend killed a top Boko Haram commander and his brother after a shootout at a residence in Kinkinua GRA, Imgwan Mu’azu, Kaduna State.
Local reports identified the slain Boko Haram leader as Usman.
Soldiers according to witnesses gained access into the residence after cracking a wall before engaging the suspected terrorists in a gunfight that lasted about 2.45 minutes before eventually killing both men.
The district head of Ungwan Muazu and Cikasauron Zazzau, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Idris, who toured the residence after the incident hailed the military on the success of the operation and urged landlords to identify their tenants properly while urging residents to be security conscious.
The Boko Haram is a terrorist group that is behind dozens of violent and deadly daily attacks in northern Nigeria that has killed over 5, 000 persons.
