June 27, (THEWILL) – Brighton and Hove Albion Women have confirmed the signing of Nigerian international goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, on a free transfer. The 24-year-old will join the club on July 1, following the expiration of her contract with Paris FC, bringing a five-year stint in France to an end. The deal remains subject to standard regulatory procedures.
Nnadozie made 118 appearances for Paris FC after signing from Rivers Angels in 2020. Her time in the French capital culminated in a heroic display during the 2025 Coupe de France Féminine final, where she saved two penalties to help defeat Paris Saint-Germain. She also featured 16 times in the UEFA Women’s Champions League between 2022 and 2025.
Head coach, Dario Vidosic, welcomed the new addition with optimism, describing Nnadozie as a “commanding presence” who would reinforce the team’s ambitions. “She has competed at the highest level and brings the kind of consistency and confidence that can define a back line,” he said. The move is part of a broader effort to strengthen the squad ahead of the upcoming season.
Nnadozie’s accolades include the 2024 UNFP Division 1 Féminine Goalkeeper of the Season award, making her the first African player to win the honour. She was also named Best Goalkeeper in the D1 Arkema league the same year. Prior to her move to Europe, she had already made a mark with Rivers Angels, winning the Nigeria Women’s Premier League in 2019 and three Nigeria Women’s Cups.
At international level, Nnadozie debuted for Nigeria’s senior team in 2018 after rising through the Under-17 and Under-20 ranks. She has since earned 55 caps for the Super Falcons. Her international and club-level experience is expected to play a key role in Albion’s push for greater competitiveness in the Women’s Super League.
