June 10, (THEWILL) – The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has issued a public alert regarding the activities of fraudulent individuals and entities falsely claiming to represent the national oil company.

In a statement signed by the Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, the NNPC detailed how these scammers employ tactics such as soliciting fees for purported meetings with members of the NNPC board of directors, executives, and management staff.

Soneye emphasized that these actions are “unauthorised and illegal.”

He urged foreign investors and international business entities to exercise extreme caution and to report any such approaches to the appropriate authorities.

He reiterated that all legitimate engagements with NNPC Limited are conducted exclusively through official channels and business units.

The company reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to transparency, integrity, and the protection of its stakeholders in all interactions.
