March 17, (THEWILL) — President Bola Tinubu has declared that there will be no hiding place for terrorists in Nigeria, vowing that security forces will track them down and eliminate their threats following the latest attacks in Maiduguri.

In a statement on Tuesday, the President condemned the multiple explosions that rocked the State capital, describing them as desperate attempts by criminal and terrorist elements to instil fear amid sustained military pressure.
Tinubu expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and injuries recorded in the attacks, extending condolences to affected families and pledging the Federal Government’s support to victims.
“These acts of terror are the final desperate and frantic attempts by criminals and terrorist elements trying to spread fear, as they are under constant pressure from our brave armed forces and security agencies,” he said.
The President commended the courage and resilience of Nigerian troops and civilian task forces, noting that they successfully repelled coordinated assaults on military formations in the state.
Reaffirming his administration’s resolve, Tinubu said ongoing counter-terrorism operations would be intensified across all theatres to ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.
“We will continue to intensify our efforts against all criminal elements, wherever they may be,” he added.
As part of immediate response measures, the President directed service chiefs and heads of security agencies to relocate to Maiduguri and take charge of operations on ground, aimed at stabilising the situation and preventing further attacks.
He also ordered emergency response agencies to ensure prompt and adequate medical care for those injured in the explosions.
Tinubu further disclosed that he had, during a high-level security meeting last weekend, approved additional equipment and operational support for the military and intelligence agencies to strengthen their capacity in the ongoing fight against insurgency.
“Our gallant military and civilian task forces will curtail and put down these evil-minded groups,” he said.
Reiterating his administration’s firm stance, the President declared: “There is no place in Nigeria where terrorists will find safety. We will locate them, confront them, and completely defeat them.”
He assured Nigerians that the country would not bow to fear or intimidation, stressing that decisive actions were already underway to restore calm in Borno State and other affected areas.
