February 05, (THEWILL) – Nottingham Forest secured a crucial victory at home against Leeds United with a goal from in-form winger, Brennan Johnson, to move up to 13th place.
Keylor Navas, who joined Forest on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in January, played a crucial role in the win with several key saves in the first half. Navas, who has a decorated history as a goalkeeper, started the game with an early save and continued to make important stops throughout the match, including efforts from Luke Ayling and Willy Gnonto.
In the second half, Leeds created several chances but were unable to convert them. Forest, on the other hand, had several opportunities to increase their lead, including a chance for substitute Sam Surridge, but were unable to capitalise.
Despite Leeds’ possession, they were unable to create much and it was Forest, who dominated in front of goal. Forest’s win takes them six points clear of 18th-placed Everton and will give them the confidence to look up rather than down.
On the other hand, Leeds are out of the bottom three on goal difference alone and will have to improve quickly as they have two games against Manchester United in the coming week.
