SAN FRANCISCO, July 14, (THEWILL) – Officials of the Department of State Security (DSS) on Thursday stormed the Ikoyi residence of the former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, and arrested his wife, Alhaja Moroofat Omolola.
THEWILL gathered that she was taken to the Lagos office of the DSS on CMD Road, Shangisha but was moved, a few minutes later, to the Lagos office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Not quite long after she was moved to the EFCC office, the anti-graft agency released her.
Sources confirmed to THEWILL that that the DSS operatives were actually at Obanikoro’s residence to search the residence for possible evidence that could help in their investigation but found nothing after hours of ransacking the house.
On leaving, the men insisted that she had to come with them.
There are indications that she has been managing high blood pressure and heart-related disease for many years.
The Obanikoros, however, are yet to comment on the matter.
