BEVERLY HILLS, February 04, (THEWILL) – Prince Uche Secondus, National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared that the Coalition for Nigeria Movement is not a threat to the party.
THEWILL recalls that Former President Olusegun Obasanjo had last week launched the movement to dislodge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
However, Secondus speaking on Sunday, while fielding questions from newsmen as he arrived at the Asaba Airport to hold meetings with PDP Governors and stakeholders in Asaba, dismissed the movement.
Flanked by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state, his Deputy, Mr Kingsley Otuaro, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori, and other top government functionaries, Secondus said: “the new coalition will never be a threat because we are a solid political party founded by our founding fathers.
“We are solid on the ground, and I believe that they are a threat to the other parties and not our party.
“The Buhari’s administration is a colossal failure, and the entire country is aware of this. We are in Asaba to talk to our people over mobilizing the grassroots.”
THEWILL gathered that Governors, members of the National Working Committee (NWC) and stakeholders of the PDP are meeting in Asaba to strategize ahead of the 2019 general elections.
The stakeholders’ meeting with the PDP NWC is to hold at 1pm, Sunday afternoon, while the PDP Governors would later meet the NWC at 5pm.
