The immediate past Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon(Engr) Victor Ochei has applauded the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) over the current issuance of a the Permanent Voters’ Card (PVC) exercise.
He made the commendation while monitoring the exercise in various collection and revalidation centres within his Aniocha North Constituency.
The Speaker Emeritus observed that the exercise has portrayed the election regulatory body as being proactive in the drive to ensure free, fair and credible elections in 2015.
According to him” the on-going programme is commendable as it will not only reduce to barest minimum, cases of electoral fraud but also provides ample opportunity to those who hitherto had not been registered by the electoral body to do so”.
While calling for patience from those who couldn’t find their names on the displayed list, he equally beckoned those who were not eligible for registration in 2011 to report for registration as from Wednesday, August 20, 2014 for fresh registration, assuring that the INEC is capable of resolving all issues necessary for the successful conduct of the 2015 general election.
