January 06, (THEWILL) – On Saturday, the senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, disclosed that it was untimely for him to dabble in the 2027 gubernatorial race in the state.
Adeola stated this at the New Year Thanksgiving party held at Ilaro, Ogun West. He said that for now, he was not concerned about any race to the seat of power at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the state capital.
He said that his major concentration was to bring more empowerment and people-oriented projects to develop his constituency.
The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, charged his constituents to expect more empowerment and quality representation in 2025.
He assured his constituents that 2025 would be far better than last year, stating that the ongoing Renewed Hope Agenda Reform was also starting to yield fruitful results
The Senator, who spoke while answering questions from newsmen shortly after a special thanksgiving at the RCCG, Unity Cathedral Ilaro, Ogun State, expressed the confidence that a sustainable and better economy awaits the people of his constituency and the entire country in the new year
He said: “I don’t think it is time for that now. We are still involved in trying to bring more dividends of democracy to our people.
“We thank God that we are able to be counted among those who see 2025 and for 2024 we must thank God. It has been a fantastic year for me, for my family and for constituents. We thank God for what He is able to use us for in 2024 for all the development in my senatorial district and also through the empowerment of my people by extension.
So, 2025 is going to be another year which is going to be very exciting and we should be expecting good things. As far as we are concerned, as far as the Senator representing Ogun West is concerned in terms of development, in terms of employment of my people and in terms of contributing to national issues on the floor of the Senate so that together we can build a virile and very good country for everybody.
“I have friends that cut across the state, who share in my beliefs who also believe that it is good to celebrate with me, I have extended my invitations to them who are friends and well-wishers from other Senatorial districts.
“Our people should only expect the best. We started and we have started well. So, there is no room for us to stop, we want to continue in that trend. We want to ensure that we attract many more developmental projects across the length and breadth of the Senatorial district. In 2025, they should expect more developments in the Ogun West Senatorial district.
“What I’m doing here today is celebrating with our people. We are optimistic that the year 2025 will be far better than the outgone year for his constituents and Nigerians, stressing that with the ongoing Renewed Hope Agenda Reform that is beginning to yield positive fruits, sustainable and bearable socioeconomic circumstances beckon in the new year”, he added.
