BEVERLY HILLS, May 10, (THEWILL) – Senator Babafemi Ojudu, one of the leading governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Party, APC, in Ekiti State has withdrawn his candidacy from Saturday’s governorship primary citing lack of transparency and injustice in the election process.
The politician, who is a presidential aide, accused the Chief John Odigie-Oyegun led National Working Committee (NWC) of doctoring the exercise to favour a particular aspirant believed to be the former governor of the state and current Minister of Solid Minerals, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.
Meanwhile, THEWILL can also report that a former National Publicity Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party and defeated Governorship aspirant of the party in Ekiti, Mr. Dayo Adeyeye, has announced his resignation from the party.
Adeyeye announced his resignation on Wednesday after a meeting with loyalists and supporters at his campaign office in Ado Ekiti, saying he would not work with Fayose politically ahead of the July governorship election.
The politician was beaten by Professor Kolapo Olusola, the deputy governor of EKiti State, who also had the backing of incumbent controversial governor, Ayodele Fayose.
Some aspirants had accused the governor of imposition and bowed out of the race.
