Ojukwu’s Son Joins APC As Buhari Campaigns For Nwoye In Anambra

BEVERLY HILLS, November 15, (THEWILL) – Emeka Ojukwu, son of late Dim Chukwuemka Odumegwu Ojukwu has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Alex Ekwueme square, Awka, during the grand campaign for the APC governorship candidate Dr Tony Nwoye.

“I’m here to support Mr President and Tony Nwoye as the next Governor of Anambra state,” Ojukwu said.

He was handed the APC’s symbolic broom by the National Chairman, Chief John Odigie- Oyegun, at the rally attended by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking at the rally, Buhari assured the people of the state of benefits from his government in view of the infrastructural arrangement being made.

“l’m very impressed with the organisation and we are hopeful that the APC will bounce back and its candidate elected as governor on Saturday,” the President said.

“Ndigbo will benefit immensely on our plans on infrastructure and I know that my government and our party have not lost sight of the promises we made during our campaigns.”

On his part, Oyegun said Anambra must be re-connected to the centre being the gate way to the southeast saying the people had promised to give the state to the President as a gift.

“It is time for Ndigbo to move from the periphery to the centre, it is time to move from the shadows to the mainstream,” he said.

Apart from leaders, there were 12 Governors, 18 Ministers and many Senators in attendance.

Others who spoke at the rally include Dr. Chris Ngige, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu Governor Rochas Okorocha, Senator Andy Uba, Chief Jim Nwobodo, Chief Agunwa Anaekwe and Senator Uche Ekwunife.
