SAN FRANCISCO, November 07, (THEWILL) – President Goodluck Jonathan has appointed Ambassador Ayo Oke as the Director General of the Nigerian Intelligence Agency (NIA).
A statement by Reuben Abati, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity said, “the President similarly approved the appointments of Mr. E.O. Okafor (Anambra State) as Deputy Director-General (Operations) and Mr. Arap A. Yadam (Plateau State) as Deputy Director-General (Administration) of the NIA.”
The statement further said, “Ambassador Oke who hails from Oyo State takes over from the outgoing Director-General of the Agency, Ambassador Ezekiel Olaniyi Oladeji whose tenure has elapsed.
“Ambassador Oke is a career diplomat who was formerly at the Commonwealth Secretariat in London. Until his appointment as Director-General, he was the Director (Regions) at the Headquarters of the NIA…
“All three appointments are with immediate effect.”
