SAN FRANCISCO, March 18, (THEWILL) – The Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has sacked of the Secretary to the Government of Imo State, Sir Jude Ejiogu with immediate effect.
The announcement was relayed in a terse radio and television message, signed by the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Dr. Paschal Obi.
The Governor thanked Sir Ejiogu, on behalf of the State, for his services to the state and wished him well in his future endeavours.
The Governor’s directive, which did not come as a shock to careful political observers in the state, was repeatedly broadcast Friday, on the radio and television channels of Imo Broadcasting Corporation, IBC.
Ejiogu was appointed SSG on the influence of the former deputy governor, Sir Jude Agbaso, who was similarly ‘sacked’ by Okorocha in questionable circumstances
Observers opine that although, Ejiogu was loyal to Okorocha and the State, his political association with the former Deputy Governor may have led to the sack.
