SAN FRANCISCO, September 28 (THEWILL) – Mr. Remi Olowude, the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of IGI Insurance Company Nigeria is dead.
A source at the insurance company who has been briefed on the development told THEWILL that Oluwode, an economist, died from an undisclosed form of cancer abroad, where he was transported a few weeks back after his health deteriorated.
Oluwode, 63, often referred to as the guru of insurance, had over 28 years of working experience in the sector, and helped turn around the fortunes of IGI.
IGI spokesman Mr. Steve Ilo, in an SMS to the local media said, “I can confirm that Our Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Remi Olowude, has passed on. Further details will be contained in the statement to be issued shortly by the family and the management of the IGI group, which he founded.”
