SAN FRANCISCO, November 08, (THEWILL) – The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said on Saturday that its attention has been drawn to an advertorial in a section of the media wherein some individuals purported to have released the result of the election of the -3 man ad-hoc delegates for the party’s primary elections in Ebonyi State.
In a statement by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Olisa Metuh, PDP said it is only the National Working Committee (NWC), through the Office of the National Organising Secretary that can release the result of the ward congresses for the election of the 3-man ad-hoc delegate or any primary election conducted by the party for that matter.
“In this regard, the national leadership will thoroughly investigate this illegality and take prompt action against anybody who may have participated in it,” the statement said.
The statement noted that the national leadership has been notified of the resignation of the Ebonyi State Chairman of the party.
“Accordingly, in line with the PDP constitution and our earlier directives in other states, we expect the Ebonyi State Deputy Chairman, being the Acting State Chairman to convene a State Executive Committee meeting within two weeks and elect a new chairman for Ebonyi state chapter of our great party,” it however said.
