There is no gainsaying the fact that the APC Federal Government has failed. There is no sector of national life that is thriving.
Data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) are so disheartening that even top government officials are ashamed to recount them.
Everywhere you turn, you see and feel despair. The hunger is the worst in decades. It has never been worse than this. There is famine in the land.
But the truth is that Nigerians were warned. The package that APC promoted ahead of the 2015 General Elections was premised on devilish deceit, hatred for good governance and national treachery.
Every discerning Nigerian knew that good governance, national development, fairness, security, inclusive leadership and inter-ethnic love will be lacking if APC won.
Several advertorials, documentaries and features were placed before Nigerians on the consequences of enthroning a leadership built on revenge and bloodletting. They fell for the trap and stood aloof while this leadership was imposed on them through an internationally backed conspiracy.
With the benefit of hindsight, the President never made any direct promise to Nigerians. He didn’t honour the Presidential Debate. He only talked about security and fighting corruption in the few minutes that he spoke at campaign venues.
All the other campaign promises were contained in leaflets and online posts by his hired propaganda agents. Therefore, there was no promise anywhere from the President himself.
The President knew his delivery capacity, hence he shied away from commitments. Since emerging as President, he has not committed to development. After all, he belongs to nobody.
Today, the Nigerian Security Architecture has been snatched by Fulani herdsmen. They kill at will, destroy homes , take the lives of security personnel and walk with immunity. The Federal Government has shied away from tackling them. Instead, leaders of the herdsmen appear on national television issuing threats to communities.
As people express outrage over the free killings by Fulani herdsmen, some traditional rulers have turned public relations officers for the killer herdsmen.
Despite the countless loans received and the improvement of oil prices, there are no striking federal projects anywhere. There is no educational advancement, no improvement of health facilities, while Nigerians are losing their jobs by the day.
A new form of corruption has replaced the existing form of corruption. On political basis, Nigerian wealth is siphoned in the form of unapproved fuel subsidy . Since 2015, the APC has never implemented any budget beyond 20percent. Rather, trillions are frittered away daily.
I understand that the APC Navigator has written a letter recounting the woes of the country under his political invention. This cheap step by Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is one of the reasons Nigeria remains under-developed.
Men who thrive in selfishness believe that the nation does not deserve the best. Despite Jonathan’s challenges as a leader, the nation was making progress in several areas. Democracy was taking root.
However, Obasanjo joined a bunch of self-centred politicians to drive the nation into retrogression. Everyone knew that the President lacked capacity to drive a modern country. Everyone cried out about his antecedents. Instead of listening, they blackmailed the process into submission.
All the documentaries aired on the President have played out. The country is in a deep mess. Obasanjo and all those who foisted this administration on us are as guilty as the failed administration.
As the nation heads to 2019, vigilance should be the watchword. This failed administration has set up the security and electoral framework for rigging. All well-meaning persons should step up the conversation on the sack of the APC Federal Government.
Obasanjo and other recent leadership defectors should not be on the driver’s seat. They are treacherous, selfish and incapable of selflessness.
The sacking of the APC Federal Government should be people-driven. Everyone must come to terms with the fact that the media and the civil society as presently constituted will stand with Buhari because he has the resource base.
This tragedy was foretold. It was known to all who had patriotic tendencies. There is nothing happening today that was not predicted.
All those who conspired to deal Nigeria this ugly APC blow have their position cut out in history. They will be remembered as political criminals who defrauded their people on the altar of pecuniary benefits.
