Nigeria is a republic 57 years old. With very intelligent arguments and supporters on interest divides, I realize every single contribution deserve appreciation from the dramatis personae. I acknowledge those who will wholeheartedly support everything without having a single clue. These class of beings are very instrumental in endorsing the Machiavellian audacity of those who manufacture ideas along interests.
I must respect the fact that Nigeria is with abundance of natural resources, with very few leaders with the brain worth to manage them since independence. We must thank all the great Nigerians with fertile minds only good enough to reason ways to appropriate our commonwealth for themselves and their unborn generations. A good blend of few super rich and multitude of pathologically poor has made it very easy for Nigerians to remain constantly in a state of war based on cleavage based agitations and clamor for control over resources. That is the reason why I must quickly duff my hat for those who understand restructuring, devolution of power, resource control for personal gains. I must also appreciate those who do know a thing about afore mentioned but happy to be in the bandwagon, regardless of the fact that they may end up as “bandits in a wagon”.
We have reached the precipice as a nation several times and each time we manage to climb back to statues quo ante albeit with bruises. Thankfully, while some of us are too aggrieved to accept our continued existence, some are not yet ready to leave the parasitic relationship, beneficial only for economic reason. Love may have elude Nigerians based on ethno religious differences, the only fragile string holding us is elitist interests, yet they are the major problem keeping us groping in the dark. Yes, our indefatigable elites deserve accolades, we must give them standing ovation for working the mills for a Nigeria of “our dreams” and a Nigeria that is “unbreakable”.
Let me therefore use this opportunity to apologize to our elites over the sad way Nigerians on the street call them cabals. They should forgive the hungry minds of poor Nigerians only fertile in picking faults. I am here to assure elites they are doing great by keeping back taxpayers money as prebends, after all, they are doing us favor by bringing the latest innovations for our poor eyes to behold. Therefore remember that each time region or ethnic group sue against marginalization, our elites are graciously responsible. They have refused to accept the Botswana government policy of paying fees from kindergarten to PhD level for its citizens – instead feeding program consumes billions.
Permit me to thank all pour politicians, they have done a good job sailing the ship of nation to our Bermuda Triangle. If the PDP has squandered our commonwealth, the APC is squandering our common health. Let me appreciate the APC led administration for executing a change administration that has left many with elusive hope of rising from a night out riding on a nightmare since 2015. Interestingly, our leaders are always right in the views of people from their region, opposing voices are playing regional politics.
I will not stand like a tree, bugged down drawing a list between the two political party’s, but I may say what they have in common and what set them apart. The PDP came to power at a time Nigerians could not stand military rule. Interestingly, the APC came in when the PDP was seen as a curse. Now, Nigerians are confused over where to go next after a section of the country alleged the incumbent administration is plagued with cluelessness, blame game, show of sectionalism, and vendetta against real or perceived enemies.
The present administration must be copiously hailed for retaining a good number of followers despite the “hate” speech from a divide of the country. We are thankful our indefatigable government has vowed to “protect” Nigerians from hate speech authors by using the army to screen social media of “miscreants”. The ruling party has fought terror, declaring victory despite duck and dive race, which has characterized the lingering and painful war in the North east, now they are seeking newer fights on social media “hate” proponents and the IPOB terror naming ceremony. Sadly, the presidency has failed to nail those alleged to have poisoned Buhari. We are indeed scared to have terrorists in the Villa making our dear president sick.
After 57 years, we are still committed to doing the same wrong things each time. As the electioneering year draws closer, Nigerians are girdled up but this time to do what? The choice is between the two political party’s which are pretty much the same. The difference is that the PDP were more interested in illegally enriching themselves. The APC is doing same thing but with less regards for the sanctity of Nigeria’s corporate existence. They roll out the worst excuses/policies showing grave decline in emotional intelligence of some of our leaders. My point for throwing around appreciation on the auspicious occasion of our 57 year independence celebration is simply a gesture on what it is we have done that say volumes on how not to be a Nigerian.
