Nigeria threw a shot against Apathied South Africa when it boycotted a commonwealth game in 1978 to register anger against the race-based segregation. Nigeria repeated same feat in 1986, this time, leading 32 out of 59 commonwealth countries in the protest. They however didn’t see how the death of apathied was going to breed xenophobia, a virus that was doomed to ravage that country with deadly cost to lives and properties of Nigerians living therein.
Apathied in South Africa roared like a hungry lion devouring blacks in the country from 1948 to 1984. Many lives were lost, many destinies eclipsed, humanity whittled for a racist based slavery/segregation. The world, especially Nigeria, never realized apathied was only designed to tame the beast resident in the dark hearts of many black South Africans. The reason for the segregation as the world would soon realize wasn’t necessarily on account of hate, slavery or racism but predicated on restraining the beast in some of the people from exhibiting savagery frequently used to quench the blood thirsty vampire resident in them.
If only countries like Nigeria who stood against apathied consulted the crystal ball, perhaps the world would have had peace in South Africa, perhaps the present lazy, demented South Africans will not dance on the grave of Nelson Mandella, Walter Sisulu, Oliver Tambo et’al to promote xenophobia, perhaps the lives of hundreds of Nigerians perishing in the hands of dark souls in that country would have been saved. But helping hapless countries is more of an instinctive decision for Nigerians leaders rather than a considered political gamut.
A Nigerian man has been killed in South African police custody – for the umpteenth time. The country police is alleged, they however claimed he died as a result of complications arising from the drugs he swallowed. Sources however intimate that he died as a result of suffocation on account of torture while in police custody. In 2015, a 30 year old Nigerian in Hillbrow, Johannesburg was killed in police custody – among so numerous extra judicial killings by South African police. The Nigerian, Nonso Odo, from Amangwu-Nkwerre, Imo State, was allegedly beaten to death by South African Police officers.
With their legendary click, click vowel sounds common with the people of Zulu [1], Xhosa [2], and Phuthi [3], some times attributed to monkey-like chirping by racists, has made many people think their orientation is more bestial than human. While it is wrong to associate a human with an animal, it is indeed noteworthy to insist that a human is reduced to an animal when that person jettisons sanctity to other human lives. It is also instinctive to add that a living person could be described as a beast once that persons relationship with others is based on how to maim, kill, burn residential/businesses, loot properties based on xenophobic orientation.
The South African hate virus against Nigerians and other Africans is indeed fast diminishing humanity in that country. With the unnecessary, most times unprovoked mob attacks now supported by devious actions of their law enforcement agencies, the situation has reached a crisis proportion that must be addressed in no puerile manner. South Africa will not be the only country with foreigners or thriving foreign investments. Their demented bloodhound citizens should also remember that South African companies dot across African.
In Nigeria, South African investors own major telecom service provider companies, they have big time shopping malls, they also own well established satellite television company. It will therefore interest many that South African investments in Nigerian rob the country of money by either selling substandard items and or providing epileptic services designed to cheat. It is curious how companies own by citizens of this xenophobic country until recently have managed to elude the long arms of the law. Interestingly, a telephone network service provider owned by investors from that country have been fined for violating Federal Government order on simcard registration.
If every country reverses its mentality to the era of cavemen and unleashes ‘territory protecting’ violence at persons perceived as intruders, the world will be put in full reverse gear to pre-historic times. Sadly, some unscrupulous elements among South Africans are set to return the world to the cave where animal instinct and not conscious human reasoning hold sway.
Asking Nigerians who have established themselves in South Africa to leave, may only present the violent brutes in that country a trophy for their bestiality. Besides the huge financial loss of what they must have worked for, they will end up becoming burden to themselves and their family once they come back home with nothing to do. It is however instructive for those who are mechanics, cleaners and other low income trades of employments to come back home.
The government of change under president Muhammadu Buhari should not allow this crime slide like others before. Death of Nigerians has become a recurring decimal in the hands of luciferian charlatans who think hunting fellow man is game. As Buhari thrives to make Nigeria a better place to work and raise family, it is necessary for him to also secure the lives of vulnerable citizens in South Africa and other parts of the world. South African imps have been hunting, maiming and burning to death Nigerians. These mobsters have been raping, robbing and murdering Nigerians. Many of whom have lost homes and left as destitute in their desolate places.
