Oshiomhole Confirms Ifeanyi Ubah Has Dumped YPP For APC

BEVERLY HILLS, March 25, (THEWILL) – Controversial businessman cum senator-elect representing Anambra South, Mr. Ifeanyi Ubah, who won the seat on the ticket of the Young Peoples Party, YPP, has quit the party for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, national chairman of the APC, said Monday during a meeting with elected members of the national assembly chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Oshiomhole’s confirmation of the senator-elect’s defection is coming after Ubah publicly denied dumping the YPP, a relatively unknown party with limited followership nationwide.

Ubah has aligned and pledged support for the leading candidate for the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmed Lawan (APC Yobe), who has the backing of President Buhari.

The national chairman said Ubah would perfect his defection in the coming days.

Ubah, the chairman of Capital Oil and Gas Limited, polled 87,081 votes beating his closest rival, Mr. Chris Uba of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and his younger brother, the incumbent Senator for the district, Senator Andy Uba, who polled 52,462 and 13,245 respectively.
