SAN FRANCISCO, 08, (THEWILL) – Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, on Thursday, visited Maiduguri, Borno state, to launch the special intervention relief plan for internally displaced persons (IDPs).
Osinbajo’s visit is coming hours after Boko Haram members attacked some towns in Maiduguri, the capital city, burning houses and killing residents.
Although, the army was able to resist the insurgents, about 15 people were reportedly killed in the attack launched on Wednesday.
Ignoring the threat, Osinbajo visited the palace of the Shehu of Borno where he said that President Muhammadu Buhari was interested in the welfare of the IDPs.
Under the special intervention relief plan, bags of grains will be distributed to IDPs from door to door to ensure that it gets to them.
