BEVERLY HILLS, September 01, (THEWILL) – The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo on Friday stated that he is not taking over Federal Government’s negotiation with the striking Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, as reported in a section of the media.

In a message posted on Twitter, the Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Laolu Akande, said the report that his principal had taken over the negotiation is untrue and inaccurate.
He maintained that the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige and the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, would continue to lead the negotiation with the university teachers.

“News reports that Vice President Osinbajo has taken over ASUU negotiations is untrue and inaccurate. Labour and Education Ministers will continue to lead the talks,” Akande wrote.
