Oyetola Asks Supporters To Remain Calm, Charges Security Operatives To Maintain Law, Order

July 17, (THEWILL) – Defeated candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State, incumbent Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, has urged his supporters to remain calm.

THEWILL reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday morning, declared Ademola Adeleke, the Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) winner of Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State.

The Governor-elect had polled a total 403,371 to beat his closest rival, incumbent governor Oyetola, who secured 375,027 votes.

But speaking for the first time since he lost the election, Oyetola told his supporters to remain calm, saying he has taken cognisance of the results of the governorship election in the State as announced by the INEC.

He, however, noted that the party would be responding appropriately after studying the results and consulting with critical stakeholders of the party.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ismail Omipidan, Oyetola called on his supporters to remain calm, and the people of the State to go about their businesses.

The Governor also called on security operatives to maintain peace in the State.
