March 25, (THEWILL) – Former Aides to the immediate past Chairman of Langtang South Local Government Council in Plateau State, including supervisory councillors and personal assistants, have dissociated and distanced themselves from their former boss, Rims Nimchak, who recently decamped to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.
Saying that they regret the loyalty, dedication, and service showed the former Chairman while they served him in various capacities, they have described the Defection of Nimchak as a huge betrayal, borne out of lack of principles, which explains why his efforts to coerce them into moving with him into his new-found Haven failed flat.
They forum of former Aides to Nimchak claims that before the Defection, the former Chairman, in company of the former Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung, invited them to Nimchak’s house in Mabudi, Langtang South, where they used all entreaties to persuade them to move with the former Chairman into the PDP, but were able to convince and secure the companionship of only the former supervisory councillor for education.
In a communique issued at the end of the forum’s meeting to review their position and relationship with their former principal last Tuesday and signed by its spokesperson, Hon Nimzing Vongtau. The Aides noted that, “We debunk the spurious news making the rounds in the media and indeed any such platform, that we, the above, have decamped together with Hon. Rims Nimchak to the PDP.”
He stated further that, “this is fake, and to a large extent, a deliberate attempt to ridicule the strong standing of the APC and our current leaders ahead of our national convention and the 2023 general elections.
“We find your reasoning and desperate appeals to abandon APC for PDP, bereft of common sense and patriotism. It is a needless betrayal that shouldn’t be associated with our political history and pride. Thus, we disown you and anything you represent”, the communique stated rather sternly.
“As Party officials and faithful, who have had the privilege of both elective and appointive positions and mandates of our esteemed people, we consider it as betrayal of trust to abandon the Party to the opposition PDP now. We see such decision and action as immoral, waspish, rascally, and to that extent irresponsible”, the Aides queried.
