BEVERLY HILLS, October 15, (THEWILL) – Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has admitted that he strongly supported the Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, who was among the presidential aspirants for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for the party’s ticket.

He said this on Sunday during a special thanksgiving service for the successful hosting of the party’s 2018 National Convention in the state.

He revealed that he has no regrets for supporting Tambuwal but must now support the choice of the party, Atiku Abubakar, as as a sign of his loyalty.

“I supported the Governor of Sokoto, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, fully. I have no regrets, but the party has made a choice and I cannot go back, I must support that choice of the party,” he stated.

“That is what they call party loyalty. Not when you don’t get the ticket, then you say “I will do this, I will do that. If you get it, some other person will also say he will do this, he will do that.

“That is not politics. I was to run as a senator in this state and at the dying minute, I was told to step down for George Sekibo. I Obeyed, and heaven didn’t fall. I didn’t know that God didn’t plan that I should be a senator, he said I would be governor, I didn’t know. Today I’m governor”.
