BEVERLY HILLS, November 21, (THEWILL) – The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Friday reviewed its resolution on the state of the party in Adamawa and Ebonyi states.

 

A statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, said the review agreed upon at the party’s 392nd National Working Committee (NWC) meeting was due to the appeals and interventions of critical stakeholders together with the remorse demonstrated by the Executives in the two states.

The statement said the NWC of the party has therefore committed the dissolution of the Adamawa and Ebonyi State Executives Committees to one-month suspension of the authors of the offensive publications that initially led to its resolution, in particular Chief Joel Madaki, State Chairman and Barr. A. T. Shehu, Secretary of the party in Adamawa state; Uche Ali Ega, State Secretary and Amaechi Oken, State Organising Secretary of the party in Ebonyi State and one Mr. Ben Akpa. The party also recalled the Caretaker Committees earlier set up in Adamawa and Ebonyi States.

According to the statement, “The Deputy State Chairman of the Party in Adamawa State, Jingi Rufai, is to serve as Acting Chairman while Fatai Ornah will be Acting Secretary.

“In Ebonyi State, Onwe Joseph Onwe is to serve as Acting Chairman and Simon Anyigor is to serve as Acting Secretary.”

Furthermore, the NWC set Monday, November 24, 2014, as date for fresh ward congresses in Cross River, Lagos and Oyo States following its cancellation of the earlier exercise in the states.

 

In the case of Cross River, the party said all suspensions by the state chapter have been lifted and all members of the party in the state are now free to participate in all party activities including the party’s congresses.
