SAN FRANCISCO, January 28, (THEWILL) – The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said on Tuesday that it has not constituted any caretaker committee for the party in Sokoto State.
In a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh, PDP said: “Our attention has been drawn to statements from certain quarters suggesting that the National Working Committee (NWC) has constituted a Caretaker Committee for the Sokoto State Chapter of our great party.
“This is completely false and intended to mislead our members and the general public.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the NWC wishes to state categorically that it has not constituted any Caretaker Committee for the Sokoto State Chapter of the PDP.
“The NWC therefore urges party faithful in Sokoto State and the North West geo-political zone to disregard statements made by those purporting to be the Caretaker Committee of the party in Sokoto State.”
