BEVERLY HILLS, CA, November 11, (THEWILL) – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended the quartet of Alhaji Abubakar Baraje, the Chairman of the faction of the party that calls itself the new PDP, as well as three others.
The other suspended party men are Dr. Sam Sam Jaja, Mr. Ibrahim Kazuare and Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.
The National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr. Olisa Metuh in a briefing said they were suspended for engaging in anti-party activities and cited relevant sections of the party’s constitution to justify the sanction.
Metuh said the quartet have been directed to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee.
The decision to suspend the influential politicians from the PDP is coming on a day when the splinter new PDP had expected Oyinlola to assume office as the PDP’s authentic National Secretary following a favourable Court of Appeal ruling last Friday that returned him to office after his removal by the order of a Federal High Court in Abuja, presided by Justice Abdul Kafarati.
