PDP To Put House In Order On Wednesday

BEVERLY HILLS, February 05, (THEWILL) – The main opposition party in the country, the Peoples Democratic Party, may eventually put its house in order as its National Executive Committee will meet in Abuja on Wednesday.

The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh, in a statement in Abuja on Friday, disclosed that the members of the party’s National Working Committee had scheduled meetings of key statutory organs of the party for next week.

“In view of the recent developments in the party, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has scheduled meetings of key statutory organs of the party,” Metuh said.

“According to the schedule approved by the National Working Committee, the meeting of the National Caucus of the party has been slated for Tuesday, February 9th, 2016 at 7pm.

“It will be followed by the meeting of the Board of Trustees (BoT) on the morning of Wednesday, February 10th. The National Executive Committee (NEC) will meet at 2pm on the same Wednesday, February 10th, 2016.

“The meetings are in furtherance of internal discussions on very crucial issues within the party as well as ways to reposition it for the challenges ahead.”

Some of the issues may include chairmanship of the party and preparation for rerun elections.
