January 01, (THEWILL) — Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has announced his immediate resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), thanking the party for providing him the platform to serve in Nigeria’s democratic process.
The resignation was conveyed in a formal letter dated December 29, 2025, addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman of Ampang West Ward in Mangu Local Government Area.
The letter was officially acknowledged by the ward leadership the following day, December 30.
In the correspondence, Governor Mutfwang expressed his gratitude to party leaders, members, and supporters for their unwavering trust during his tenure within the PDP.
He stated that his decision was informed by “the realities of the moment” and guided by a commitment to purposeful leadership, clarity of direction, and effective service delivery for the people of Plateau State.
While the Governor’s letter did not explicitly name his next political destination, credible sources have confirmed that he is set to formally realign with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
