BEVERLY HILLS, November 01, (THEWILL) – The Ogun State Police Command on Sunday, arrested five members of a dreaded cult group.
The gang, Police said had unleashed terror on the people of Ifo town in the early hours of Sunday
A statement by the State Police Public Relations Office, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi said the suspects “Afeez Olapade aka Sabiko, 22; Idowu Adebayo 18; Oduwaye Seyi aka Owo Aje 22; Fatai Olude, 22 and Alabi Segun 22 were apprehended following a distress call received by the DPO, Ifo division that the cult group are on rampage around ifo market attacking people with dangerous weapons and dispossessing innocent people of their valuables.”
Oyeyemi said the Divisional Police Officer, Ifo, CSP Adeniyi Adekunle who mobilised his men to the scene met a 25-year old man, “identified as Sunday, in the pool of his own blood as a result of several matchet injury on his body. The victim was taken to the General hospital where he was confirmed dead.”
The gang, DSP Oyeyemi said also injured one Muhammed, a trailer driver while “one Olalekan Alade was also dispossessed of his phone by the hoodlums.”
Oyeyemi added that five phones were recovered from the gang.

Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, Edward Awolowo Ajogun has ordered the transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for “discreet investigation.”
Ojogun, who ordered a manhunt on the fleeing members of the gang, warned those “who think that police have abandoned their duty as a result of recent protest should better have a rethink as the command is determined more than ever before to wage war against crime and criminality, anywhere in the state.”
