SAN FRANCISCO, June 01, (THEWILL) – The Managing-Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Mr. Nsima Ekere on Thursday escaped death by the whiskers as a police officer attached to his convoy died while others sustained injuries in a ghastly motor accident.
The accident happened along the Calabar-Itu highway as the NDDC Managing-Director and his motorcade were on the way to Calabar to reportedly receive Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, who is on a working visit to Cross River State.
ThisDay reports that a trailer ran into the convoy of the NDDC boss and hit the pilot vehicle killing one of the police personnel on the spot while other policemen in the vehicle were left in various stages of injury.
The report added that the body of the deceased police officer has been deposited in the morgue while other policemen that sustained various degrees of injuries were rushed to an undisclosed hospital.
