BEVERLY HILLS, October 14, (THEWILL) – Clems Onyeka, a popular Nollywood actor was killed on Tuesday afternoon by a stray bullet when policemen engaged a gang of armed robbers during a failed attempt to rob a bullion van carrying cash along Summit Road in Asaba, the Delta State capital.
Witnesses said several persons were wounded including a policeman and the robbers during the gunfight, which sent several motorists and pedestrians fleeing to safety.
The wounded were later transported to the Federal Medical Centre in the city.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Celestina Kalu, who confirmed the incident to reporters, said the bullion van managed to evade the armed gang leaving behind the team of police escort to confront the attackers.
